Midwest beats state, national utilities in customer survey

SurveyMidwest Electric once again earned high grades from its members in the annual phone surveys sponsored by Buckeye Power.

The most telling score is in the American Customer Satisfaction Index, or ACSI. ACSI is one of the most recognized customer satisfaction indices in the United States. It's managed by the University of Michigan Business School and sponsored by the American Society for Quality. It measures customers' satisfaction in 16 major industries and 190 leading corporations.

Midwest Electric achieved an 82 ACSI rating, well above the statewide cooperative average score of 78. The nation's electric utility industry average score is 74. Locally, AEP scored a 76.
Midwest Electric even outperformed giants such as The Southern Company (81), considered the best investor-owned electric utility in America, Southwest Airlines (79) and Starbucks (77).

The results of a recent American Customer Satisfaction Index -- the ACSI -- confirm that electric co-ops provide unmatched service in the electricity market and superlative service when compared to other industries. The fact that we're locally owned and responsive to our members -- committed to providing quality service -- is paying off in customer satisfaction.
