Retail Energy Choice allows people to choose their electricity supplier, potentially lowering their costs. The utility company will continue to deliver power and maintain the lines, but you choose the generation company.

If you live in cooperative territory, such as with Midwest Electric, you receive your electricity from a cooperative and are also an owner and member of that co-op. Cooperatives are unique because we have complete control over our energy supply and own our generation resources, which helps keep rates stable and competitive.

This means that members like you don’t need to "choose" a power supplier — you already own it! While market prices fluctuate with demand, co-op prices remain stable.

Note: If you notice an aggregation issue on a local ballot, rest assured that you won't be affected if you are a co-op member. Your power will still come from Midwest Electric — no surprises.
