PEAK ALERT, Friday, August 27, Approximately 2-6 pm
Please help us keep rates low by conserving/delaying energy use until after the peak, when electricity is most expensive.
Stay tuned for more peak alerts this week, as temperatures will remain high.
What should you do during a peak alert?
🌡Conserve or delay energy use between around 3-6 pm during the peak if possible, when electricity costs the most. *Peak time may vary, depending on the weather.
🌡Delay hot water use, showering, washing clothes, etc., until later in the day or do them before the afternoon hits.
🌡Turn off unnecessary lights.
🌡 Cook with the microwave rather than the oven, which uses more energy (or grill out... you can even choose to go out to eat instead)
🌡 Tap the A/C a notch up a few degrees.
*If you have a radio-controlled switch installed on your AC, it will be activated, so don't be alarmed if you see a red light on.
