Midwest Electric recently provided a small business loan to Fort Equipment, a specialty farm equipment manufacturer in Fort Recovery. The low-interest loan was provided through the co-op's Revolving Loan Fund, which aims to support local businesses and empower the community by creating and retaining jobs in west-central Ohio.
Fort Equipment's roots run deep in Fort Recovery, a community known for its dedication to agriculture and hard work. The company strives to bring innovative farming solutions that reflects the spirit of their community.
Fort Equipment used funds from the loan to convert a chicken house into a welding shop to expand its facilities. This kept fabrication and welding in-house and lowered outsourcing costs. Fort Equipment primarily manufactures liquid manure equipment and has six dealers throughout the U.S. and one in Canada.
